Please read our .

Summary

A possible Bronze Age round barrow within Maiden Castle hillfort recorded during RCHME earthwork survey in 1984-5 and confirmed by subsequent geophysical survey. It appears as an irregular mound 0.5 metres high and 20 metres in diameter, circa 20 metres north of the bank barrow . No ditch is visible on the surface. However, magnetometer survey recorded a circular, ditched enclosure about 25 metres in diameter at this point. Attached to the north-east side of this was another, slightly smaller, enclosure, only visible on the magnetometer survey.
