Summary

1677 wreck of a cargo vessel which foundered near the Cobb at Lyme Regis in heavy storms. She was laden with a cargo of wheat bound for the Netherlands at the time of sinking. Constructed of wood, she was a sailing vessel.

Full Description

Jan. 27. Lyme. 'Anthony Thorold to Williamson. The storm beginning Thursday last continues still, the wind S.E., which has the greatest influence on our town and harbour, and it has done some harm to both, viz., sunk a ship in the Cobb laden with wheat for Holland and also made some breaches in our works.'
