Full Description
Banked curvilinear features to the southwest of Henley, Buckland Newton, are visible as earthworks on Environment Agency lidar imagery [1]. The features comprise closely spaced parallel curvilinear banks that form narrow strips within a historic field. They are considered to possibly be field boundaries of medieval origin. A further deep ditched linear feature that follows the edge of a historic field boundary shown on the OS 1st Edition map and joins a historic trackway to the north might be part of a medieval hollow way. The features were digitally plotted during the Dorset Upper Cerne and Piddle AIM project.
