Full Description
A slightly irregular linear ditched feature to the southwest of Henley, Buckland Newton, is visible as an earthwork on current Environment Agency lidar imagery [1]. The feature corresponds with a section of Ford Down Lane that is recorded on the OS 1st Edition map. For Down Lane once extended southwest then south to join with Barne's Lane. This section has subsequently gone out of use [2]. The lane might be of medieval to post medieval date. It was digitally plotted during the Dorset Upper Cerne and Piddle AIM project.
