Summary

Two areas of possible ridge and furrow cultivation to the north of Cerne Abbas are visible as earthworks on Environment Agency lidar imagery. The features are considered to possibly be part of a medieval field system, possibly an area of former medieval strip field. They were digitally plotted during the Dorset Upper Cerne and Piddle Valleys AIM project.

Two areas of possible ridge and furrow cultivation to the north of Cerne Abbas are visible as earthworks on Environment Agency lidar imagery [1]. The features are considered to possibly be part of a medieval field system, possibly an area of former medieval strip field. They were digitally plotted during the Dorset Upper Cerne and Piddle Valleys AIM project.
