The features are considered likely to be medieval cultivation marks and were digitally recorded during the Dorset Upper Cerne and Piddle AIM Project; they have since been levelled.

Parallel banked features are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in 1947 to the west of St Martin's Church, Cheselbourne <1>. The features are considered likely to be medieval cultivation marks and were digitally recorded during the Dorset Upper Cerne and Piddle AIM Project; they have since been levelled <2>.
