Full Description
The remains of possible medieval cultivation on Smacam Down, Cerne Abbas, are visible as earthworks on Environment Agency lidar imagery [1]. The features comprise parallel cultivation marks and possible ridge and furrow, delimited by in places by narrow linear banks. The features appear to overlie the eastern end of a later prehistoric settlement and field system (MDO716). They were digitally plotted during the Dorset Upper Cerne and Piddle Valleys AIM project.
