Summary

Three Old Chalk Pits and a Saw Pit are marked on the OS 1st edition map within Dole's Hill Plantation, Piddlehinton. They are visible as low earthworks on lidar imagery and were digitally recorded during the Dorset Upper Cerne and Piddle AIM Project. Two other small extractive pits not marked on the OS mapping are also visible on the lidar.

Full Description

Three Old Chalk Pits and a Saw Pit are marked on the OS 1st edition map within Dole's Hill Plantation, Piddlehinton <1>. They are visible as low earthworks on lidar imagery and were digitally recorded during the Dorset Upper Cerne and Piddle AIM Project <2>. Two other small extractive pits not marked on the OS mapping are also visible on the lidar.
