An Old Chalk Pit is marked on the OS 1st edition map at the eastern end of Cheselbourne West Down, Cheselbourne. The pit with associated spoil is visible as earthworks on lidar imagery and was digitally recorded during the Dorset Upper Cerne and Piddle AIM Project; several smaller pits were also recorded across the down.

Full Description
An Old Chalk Pit is marked on the OS 1st edition map at the eastern end of Cheselbourne West Down, Cheselbourne. The pit with associated spoil is visible as earthworks on lidar imagery and was digitally recorded during the Dorset Upper Cerne and Piddle AIM Project; several smaller pits were also recorded across the down. <1-2>
