Full Description
A post medieval quarry on Stratton Down, Stratton, is visible as an earthwork on Environment Agency lidar imagery [1]. The feature comprises a long rectilinear cut into the base of slope, around 250m long by 16m deep, now under tree cover. It is recorded as an old quarry on the OS 1st Edition map [2]. It was digitally plotted during the Dorset Upper Cerne and Piddle Valleys AIM project.
