Summary

The probable site of a later prehistoric settlement comprising a complex of conjoined rectilinear ditched enclosures with an associated multivallate enclosure is visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs to the northeast of Pat's Castle, Piddletrenthide. The features cover an area of 5.5 hectares and were digitally recorded during the Upper Cerne and Piddle Valleys AIM project.

Full Description

The probable site of a later prehistoric settlement comprising a complex of conjoined rectilinear ditched enclosures with an associated multivallate enclosure is visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs to the northeast of Pat's Castle, Piddletrenthide. The enclosure is defined by a double bank and ditch on its southern side and has outer dimensions of 60m by 55m. The features cover an area of 5.5 hectares and were digitally recorded during the Upper Cerne and Piddle Valleys AIM project.<1-3>
