Full Description
A rectilinear enclosure to the north of Forston Higher Farm, Charminster, is visible as soilmarks on aerial photographs [1]. The feature comprises a sub-square ditched enclosure approximately 49m by 46m, with a possible entrance on the east side. A ditched linear feature perpendicular to the east sdie might be an associated field boundary. The feature could potentially be later prehistoric in origin, perhaps of Iron Age to Roman date. It was digitally plotted during the Dorset Upper Cerne and Piddle Valleys AIM project.
