Monument record MDO49280 - Post medieval drainage system, Mappowder

The remains of a post medieval drainage system are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in 1947 and lidar imagery to the south of Thurnwood Farm, Mappowder. The fragmented system of perpendicular ditches covers an area of over 9 hectares; it was digitally recorded during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM project and has since been partially levelled. The drainage system overlies the medieval system described in MDO49265.
