Full Description
The remains of a post medieval drainage system are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in 1947 and lidar imagery to the south of Thurnwood Farm, Mappowder (1-2).The fragmented system of perpendicular ditches covers an area of over 9 hectares; it was digitally recorded during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM project and has since been partially levelled. The drainage system overlies the medieval system described in MDO49265.(2).
