Summary

An elongated enclosure is marked on the OS 1st edition map on the steep west facing slope of Combe Hill, Hilton. It is visible as earthworks on lidar imagery and was digitally recorded during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM project. The feature is 55m by 16m in size and is possibly the site of a medieval or post medieval pillow mound.

Full Description

An elongated enclosure is marked on the OS 1st edition map on the steep west facing slope of Combe Hill, Hilton. It is visible as earthworks on lidar imagery and was digitally recorded during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM project. The feature is 55m by 16m in size and is possibly the site of a medieval or post medieval pillow mound.
