Summary

Fragments of an extensive banked field system visible as low earthworks on lidar imagery on the west facing slopes to the southeast of Ansty Cross. The boundaries may be of prehistoric origin with medieval reuse, they cover an area of over 31 ha and were digitally recorded during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM project. They form part of a wider field system described in MDO3973.

Full Description

Fragments of banked field boundaries are visible as low earthworks on lidar imagery on the west facing slopes to the north of Hilton village. The boundaries may be of prehistoric origin with medieval reuse, they cover an area of over 7 ha and were digitally recorded during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM project.
