Full Description
A possible Bronze Age round barrow is visible as a cropmark on aerial photographs. The site is centred at ST 9411 0928 and is defined by a single ring ditch with a break to the south-east which almost encloses a circular area measuring circa 16.5m in diameter.
The size and shape of the enclosure suggest that it is the plough levelled remains of a Bronze Age round barrow, several of which are known in this area. There is no sign of any barrow mound or other internal feature such as a funerary deposit. <1, 1.1, 2, 2.1>
A ring ditch visible on oblique aerial photographs taken by Francesca Radcliffe <4>. Interpreted as being the probable remains of a Bronze Age round barrow.
The feature is visible as a pronounced circular annular cropmark c 22m in diameter on an aerial photograph dated 1969 <3> and was digitally plotted from this source during the Dorset Middle Stour AIM project.
