Full Description
A bowl barrow north east of Buzbury Rings. In 1972 this monument was reported as being around 74 feet in diameter with a mound about seven feet high, and surrounded by a ditch 15 feet wide and 1½ feet deep <2>. The record for this monument has been enhanced with support from Wessex Water.
The feature is visible as a sub-circular mound encircled by an outer ring ditch on aerial photographs and as a mounded earthwork on Environment Agency lidar imagery <4-6>. It was digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour AIM project.

'(9) BOWL (92030634), on Rawston Down, 325ft above O.D., lies on the E. crest of a Chalk ridge extending N.W. -S.E.; diam. 74ft., ht 7ft.; surrounding ditch 15ft. Wide and 1½. ft wide deep.'
