Summary

A bowl barrow north east of Buzbury Rings. In 1972 this monument was reported as being around 74 feet in diameter with a mound about seven feet high, and surrounded by a ditch 15 feet wide and 1½ feet deep. The record for this monument has been enhanced with support from Wessex Water. The feature is visible as a sub-circular mound encircled by an outer ring ditch on aerial photographs and as a mounded earthwork on Environment Agency lidar imagery. It was digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour AIM project.

Full Description

A bowl barrow north east of Buzbury Rings. In 1972 this monument was reported as being around 74 feet in diameter with a mound about seven feet high, and surrounded by a ditch 15 feet wide and 1½ feet deep <2>. The record for this monument has been enhanced with support from Wessex Water.

The feature is visible as a sub-circular mound encircled by an outer ring ditch on aerial photographs and as a mounded earthwork on Environment Agency lidar imagery <4-6>. It was digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour AIM project.
