Summary

Bronze Age bowl barrow. In 1972 the RCHME reported that the monument formerly survied as a small mound with a pit dug into its centre, but had more recently been levelled by cultivation. Grinsell (1959) notes that this barrow was destroyed in or by 1939. The barrow is visible as a cropmark ring ditch on aerial photographs taken in 1995 and was digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour Catchment AI&M Project. The record for this monument has been enhanced with support from Wessex Water.

Full Description

A bowl barrow situated on a ridge top. It was formerly a small mound with a pit dug in the centre, but has now been destroyed by cultivation. <3>

The barrow is visible as a cropmark ring ditch 14m across on aerial photographs taken in 1995 <5> and was digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour Catchment AI&M Project.
