Full Description
Centred at SY 59958422. On the S and E sides of Merry Hill a series of medieval strip lynchets is visible. These are regularly spaced, parallel and grass covered. The lynchets are from 0.5m to 1.6m high. <1>
Series of regular, parallel strip lynchets on the southern and eastern slopes of Merry Hill. The features are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs <2> and may be semi-natural in origin. They were digitally plotted during the South Dorset Ridgeway Mapping Project.
