Summary

Pottery kiln and works site. It was part of the Verwood Potteries. It was in production from the late 17th century and worked throughout 18th century then it sprang to full production again in the 1860s.

A pottery kiln has been located at Gotham Farm. Lewis Kerley, a potter, may have been operating at Gotham Farm during the late 17th century. Thomas Lawrence is known to have been operating a kiln at the farm from c.1700 until 1737 or later. <3>
