Full Description
The butt end of a Neolithic polished stone axe of Group VII was found in 1964 at ST 99121413 <3>, whilst a bank was being bulldozed. The bank, probably associated with the Iron Age/Romano-British settlement (ST 91 SE 3), is near to the Cursus (SU 01 NW 91). The axe is in the possession of Martin Green of Down Arm, Woodcutts. A polished felsite pebble, perhaps a prehistoric hone stone, was found nearby. <2>
