Summary

Ice house at Duntish Court, possibly eighteenth century. A false front, having a double arched entrance, was built on to the west side, perhaps to make it into a garden feature. Later the icehouse was made into a grotto.

'To the S. of the S. pavilion is an 18th-century Grotto of rubble and flint.'

'Duntish Court (Castle Hill), Buckland Newton ST 692068. A false front, having a double arched entrance, was built on to the west side, perhaps to make it into a garden feature. Later the icehouse was made into a grotto. To the east of this icehouse is a long pond, now overgrown.'
