Full Description

It should be noted that although this barrow was reported as a new discovery in 1986, the published grid reference is very close to that of Bull Barrow, and it seems likely that this is a duplicate.

'Bronze Age Bowl Barrow, Holt, SU 05550500. This barrow stands close to the 53 m contour on Holt Heath, overlooking a small valley. Two footpaths cross upon the summit of the barrow and at this point the barrow has been, and is, suffering from erosion. From the surface of the mound the following flints have been recovered: 2 hollow scrapers, 8 flakes showing signs of secondary working, 77 flakes and 16 cores or core fragments.'
