Full Description

Much coarse black Romano-British pottery was reported as being seen in the low cliff on east side of the River Bride some years ago. Investigation is now difficult owing to the presence of a caravan site. {1}

'A Romano-British site at the mouth of the Bride, Burton Bradstock. Capt. Cobham informs me that some years ago he observed much coarse black Romano-British pottery in the low cliff on the east side of the streat at SY 479895. Investigation is now difficult owing to the presence of a caravan site, but he suggests the existence of a settlement around the mouth of the river.'
