Monument record MDO6004 - Round barrow south of Target Wood, Shapwick

A Bronze Age round barrow, now ploughed out and surviving only as a ring ditch, visible on aerial photographs. The record for this monument has been enhanced with support from Wessex Water.

Ring ditch visible on aerial photograph CUAP AUP34 the diameter estimated from this photograph is 20m. It lies on a south east slope and is not shown on the 25 inch – 1 mile 1887 Ordnance Survey map. Perhaps the site of a Bronze Age burial mound.
