'A silver coin of the Durotriges (Mack 317, Evans F 1-2), found by Mr. Francis in his garden at Cattistock (SY 593998), has been reported by Capt. R. V. R. Foster. The Curator of the County Museum, Mr. R. N. R. Peers, sent it to Mr. Derek Allen for inclusion in the card index of British coins at the institute ofArchaeology, London. Mr Allen records its weight as 4.443 grams (68.564 grains), and states, "it is obviously of good silver and not far distant from the gold - definitely BC and pretty close to the Le Catillon hoard specimens" which belonged to the mid 1st century BC.'
