Site Code: PM34. Area: F. Activity: Area of Bronze Age and Neolithic activity, including cremation in Deverel-Rimbury bucket urn. Dating evidence: Pottery (Bronze Age) + narrow blade flint work. Area: 20m x 50m. Centre of Activity: SZ 0418 9705.

‘THE STOUR VALLEY GRAVELS PROJECT 1985 INTERIM REPORT
Excavations in advance of c. 40 hectares of gravel quarries at Moortown Aerodrome and White’s Pit (near Bearwood, Poole) … A Deverel-Rimbury urn containing a cremation has also been discovered in a trial trench. The area remains to be excavated and may resolve into a small Deverel-Rimbury cemetery. Evidence of early Neolithic and Bronze Age settlement has previously been summarised (Horsey and Jarvis 1984).’
