'WAREHAM ST MARTIN (SY 91258695 - 91488669). To the west of Cuckoo Lane (now obliterated by school playing fields) Romano-British occupation debris of the first to fourth-century AD has been found. A large settlement enclosure is visible on air photographs, consisting of ditches and possible pits. (D. E. Johnston, The Wareham Bypass (1975)).'
