Summary

Earthwork remains of a grass covered mound, diameter 18.0 metres, and 0.5 metres high; possibly a Bronze Age bowl barrow. A circular mound surrounded by an outer ditch, is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs of Worgret Hill, Arne. It is considered likely to be the remains of the round barrow described above. It may be one of a group of dispersed barrows which make up the Worgret Heath group.

Full Description

A grass covered mound, diameter 18.0 metres, and 0.5 metres high. No sign of berm or ditch, but slight mutilation exists on the top as if excavated. No surface finds were made. A possible bowl barrow at SY 90088685. (1)

A circular mound, approximately 10.8m in diameter surrounded by a 1.5m wide outer ditch, is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs of Worgret Hill, Arne (3-4). It is considered likely to be the remains of the round barrow described above. It is one of a group of dispersed barrows which make up the Worgret Heath group. This feature was digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project. It is still visible as a partial cropmark on the most recent Google Earth imagery.
