Full Description
(A & B). Two large bowl barrows. No other details given. <2>
'B'. A mound of diameter 18.0 metres, and 2.0 metres high. No visible berm, but a ditch averages 1.2 metres wide and 0.2 metres deep. The mutilation to this bowl barrow is identical with that of 'A'. No surface finds were made in the vicinity of these barrows. <3>
'B' - (68) - SY 86208924. Bowl barrow, 58ft. diameter and 7ft. high, possibly ditched. Damaged by tanks. <4>
SY 862894. Two round barrows on South Heath. Scheduled. <5>
'B': SY 86188923. Bowl barrow, overall diameter 21.0 metres, with a ditch, 2.5 metres wide and 0.2 metres deep on all except the
north quadrant. Height 2.3 metres. Both barrows are on heathland have minor mutilations. Resurveyed at 1:2500 on M.S.D. <6>
A Bronze Age round barrow, approximately 15.1 m in diameter, is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs <7-8> and Lidar imagery <9>. It is one of two round barrows identified at this location on South Heath, Bere Regis (MDO7096-97). This feature was plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
