Full Description

"Here (at Grange Farm) was formerly a small chapel, the remains of which have been converted into a dwelling-house; it bears some marks of antiquity, but has no architectural features of much interest". <1>

The site of the chapel is grass-covered, and for about 60m around is a mass of small pits and hillocks forming no regular pattern. At SY 78808341, in a short length of stone wall, are two stones with pieces of moulding carved on them which may have originated from the chapel. <2>

The chapel was incorporated by 1801 into a house, since destroyed. <4>

The site of the chapel cannot now be identified on the ground. The field has been ploughed in recent years but is now under pasture. <5>
