Full Description
SY 93147957. A mound on the south edge of the settlement area on Smedmore Hill (see SY 97 NW 21), and possibly associated with it, is 22 feet long southwest-northeast by 18ft. wide by 1 foot high. It appears to consist of limestone rubble. <2>
SY 931796. Settlement on Smedmore Hill. Scheduled. The scheduled area also includes this mound which may be connected with the
Iron Age/Romano British settlement. <1> <3>
A turf covered mound 0.3m high and now 5m in diameter. The south side of the scheduled area has been fenced, and this crosses the mound, the SW end of which has now been curtailed by ploughing in the adjacent field. Surveyed at 1:2500 on OS plan. <5>
