Full Description

Strip lynchets, probably associated with the Medieval manorial earthworks in the bottom of the valley. <1>

Centred at SY 67909385. A series of strip lynchets extending for approximately 150 metres in length. The average height of each lynchet is 2.5 metres. See also AP CPE/UK/2431/4132. <2>

Situated on a steep West-facing hill, these lynchets are undeveloped, the height quoted in authority 2, being mainly natural hillside. Average width which has been tilled is 2-3 metres. <3>

The lynchets have been smoothed and spread, though generally agree with the measurements and description of Authorities (2) and (3). <4>
