Full Description
SZ 03028127. Generally as described by Author 2 but N half now ploughed out. The S half lies on National Trust land and seems no longer at risk. Surveyed at 1:1000 and 1:2500 scales. <1>
SZ 03038127 Bowl (?)barrow, 24ft diameter and 2ft high with boundary stone on the top. <3>
Bowl Barrow, 9 paces diameter and 1 1/2ft high situated on Swanage/Studland parish boundary. Visited by L V Grinsell. <4>

(W) BALLARD DOWN GROUP (SZ 08 SW). Five small bowls close together within 500 ft. ring contour on spine of steep-sided chalk ridge. The area, built on and disturbed in the 1940s and now almost levelled by ploughing, contians numerous slight rises similarly marked by concentrations of stone rubble, making identification of barrows recorded here very difficult. (86-8) are corssed by the parish boundary with Studland. The following are reasonably certain:
(88) Bowl (?) (03038127). 260 yds. E. of (87). Diam. 24 ft., ht. 2 ft. Boundary stone on top.

Probable bowl barrow, diam. 7.4 m and ht. 0.3 m. Faint swelling crossed E-W by a fence. Grass covered but badly ploughed down. OS SZ08SW24.

One of a group of five barrows on Ballard Down, it is crossed by a fence boundary with a boundary stone on top (see 112131). An irregular oval mound 7.5m dia. And 0.3 high with a track running parallel with the fence to the south.
