'5.2.2.1 Clay mining … Trigon Hill is a clay outlier rising above the sands and gravels of the Vales. Lenticels of clay do occur over the whole of the estate giving rise to undulations in the landscape. The ball clay at Trigon is being actively won from an openpit. The older workings are still visible abutting the old Estate boundar H44. In the field adjacent there are a number of earthworks including the remains of a possible tramway A20 (SY89808930).'
