Summary

Site of a Bronze Age round barrow. The barrow had traces of a trench through it, thought to be the result of antiquarian investigation. The site was developed in 1949 and all trace of the barrow mound was removed.

Full Description

A round barrow is marked on the edge of heathland on the Ordnance Survey 25-inch maps epochs 1-4 (1871-1923). <1-4>

Tumulus. Diam 45 ft, height 4.5ft. Ditch slightly indicated. Has apparently been opened by a trench from W to centre. <5>

Build over early in 1949 and all signs of mound removed. <6>

No visible remains. Site built over. <7>
