Find Spot record MDO8515 - Loom weight, Duncliff Road, Bournemouth

Findspot of an annular baked clay loom weight. Found in April 1937, it has been described as being either Late Bronze Age or Saxon. In 1961, the Red House Museum, Christchurch accessioned a clay loom-weight from the collection of Mr C B Gilbert. It was recognised from a photograph as that found in 1937 and then 'lost' by A H Gilbert.

(SZ 15339195) This loom weight has since been lost by the owner (TI). Either LBA or Saxon. <2>

In 1961, Red House Museum accessioned a clay loom-weight from the collection of Mr C B Gilbert which was recognised from a photgraph as that `lost' by A.H Gilbert. <3>
