A large quantity of Palaeolithic flint implements, mainly handaxes, have been recovered through gravel extraction at Furzy (Latch Farm) and are in the Red House Museum, Christchurch.

Full Description

Sixty palaeolithic flint artefacts are recorded coming from gravel pits at Furzy (Latch Farm) and are in the Druitt Collection at Red House Museum, Christchurch.

(Area SZ 153945) Furzy (Latch Farm). The undermentioned finds have been made in the area. Nearly all in the Druitt Collection Christchurch: 60 Palaeoliths; 4 leaf arrowheads; 1 flint celt; 6 flint picks. All finds made in gravel working, 3 LBA bucket urns found. This gravel pit is now dis-used and overgrown. (1-3)
