Full Description
A large number of finds of prehistoric date have been recovered Furzy (Latch Farm) as a result of gravel extraction, the majority of which are now in the Red House Museum, Christchurch. These finds include a significant component of Mesolithic flint implements including six flint picks, three Microliths, over 600 scrapers, 40 cores, etc. (1)
The Mesolithic material from Furzy (Latch Farm) comprises 2 microliths, 4 tranchet axes, 2 picks, 33 cores, about 150 flakes an blades, about 500 scrapers and about 200 other flints, all in the Red House Museum, Christchurch. Two scrapers are in the British Museum. (2)

Area SZ 153945) Furzy (Latch Farm). The undermentioned finds have been made in the area. Nearly all in the Druitt Collection Christchurch:
60 Palaeoliths; 4 leaf arrowheads; 1 flint celt; 6 flint picks; 3 Microliths; 16 Transverse arrowheads; 10 barbed and tanged arrowheads; 3 Triangular arrowheads; 7 plano-convex-knives; over 600 scrapers 40 cores etc, 2 EBA Beakers (see SZ 19 SE 3 & 4) possibly the same Beakers; Rusticated and grooved ware; LBA urn.
Similar information but for EBA Beakers see SZ 19 SE 3 & 4 (a)
All finds made in gravel working, 3 LBA bucket urns found (b).
This gravel pit is now dis-used and overgrown. (1-3)
