Listed Building record MDO9543 - Chestnut Cottage, Pentridge

One storey cottage with attics, has walls partly of timber framework filled in with wattle-and-daub and partly of brick; the roof is tiled. It is of the 17th century and retains many original features. The fireplace has a 17th-century chamfered oak bressummer upon which the date 1730 has been carved.

It is of the 17th century and retains many original features. Inside, the open fireplace has a 17th-century chamfered oak bressummer upon which the date 1730 has been carved. Some original stop-chamfered beams are exposed. Mediaeval window glass and 17th-century oak panelling have been brought from elsewhere. <1>
