Full Description

Square type 26 pillbox. Type 26 (variant) pillbox, wood-shuttered. Situated on beach with field of fire E/W along beach and out to sea. Upper surface of pillbox pebble-dashed for camouflage. With PLAN drawn on form. Square pillbox; upper-half pebble-dashed for camouflage. Height 6ft 6ins, sides 10ft, walls 18ins thick.Chesil Beach, near Old Coastguard Cottages on the Burton Road at the boundary of Abbotsbury. <1-3>
