Full Description
`The SWIFT, Kershaw, is on shore on Portland Island, and full of water; and a sloop from Jersey to Dartmouth. (1-2) [NB: A gale was reported in the Channel on the 9th, according to accounts from Deal and Portsmouth in the previous issue of LL, and from Plymouth in the Naval Chronicle.] Date of Loss Qualifier: A
May be the same vessel as the Dispatch ( MWX1791 ) which was wrecked at the same place and the same time.
The building date for this vessel is an estimate based on an average age at wrecking of twenty years. This average is derived from those vessels wrecked on the Dorset coast whose age at wrecking is known.
