`...run ashore on Friday afternoon...in the West Bay opposite the Fleet Preventive Houses owing to her having four feet of water in her hold; and lost mizzen mast, main gaff, and sails blown to pieces. The cargo consisted of rice and buckwheat, which was in a very damaged state...the whole crew were saved, and should the weather prove moderate they are in hopes to save the vessel. The building date for this vessel is an estimate based on an average age at wrecking of twenty years. This average is derived from those vessels wrecked on the Dorset coast whose age at wrecking is known.
