`London, March 28...Advice is received from Portland that the ELIZABETH, Grayford master, from Limerick, was drove on shore on Monday last in Portland Road and entirely lost. Part of the cargo will be saved. (1) `The ELIZABETH, Ford, from Limerick to Cowes, with provisions, is lost off Portland; part of her materials, and some of the cargo, saved. The building date for this vessel is an estimate based on an average age at wrecking of twenty years. This average is derived from those vessels wrecked on the Dorset coast whose age at wrecking is known.
