Dorset County Chronical: 10//2/1841: Brig - Captain Hallet. Cargo wood. Master and three crew drowned. Two crew saved. Chesil Cove. Weymouth Library Folio L.614.868. P03. Morning Post. December 11, 1841, Issue 22122 from the Western Luminary "We regret to state that the Amyntas, Robert Hallet, master bound from Quebec to Topsham, with timber, went ashore on Portland Beach during a gale on Tuesday morning last, and has become a total wreck. A large portion of the cargo has been saved: bt it is lamentable to add that the master and three of the crew, named Henry Sandford, John Ayre and Robert Ayre, lost their lives in consequence."
