Summary

A two-storey brick and stone twine store to the rear of number 40 St Michael’s Lane, probably built in the mid to late 19th-century. It was probably built by Ewens and Turner as part of their rope and twine works.

Full Description

Store at rear of number 40. A two-storied building of four bays, possibly of late 19th century date. Built of red brick, with stone rubble in the lower part of the blind south elevation. The north elevation has a long workshop window to the upper storey. There are blocked wide arched openings in both ends of the building. The site is possibly related to the ropewalks to the east. <2>
