Summary

Remains of the 1891 wreck of an English cargo vessel stranded on the Tar Rocks, on the western side of Portland. She was an iron-hulled steamer, en route from Newlyn to London with a cargo of stone and tin ingots.

Where Built: Stockton-on-Tees Propulsion: Screw driven, 2 cylinder compound engine HP: 80 Boilers: 2 Master: T Becherley Owner: T Bazeley, Penzance Date of Loss Qualifier: A Drove ashore in fog, wind conditions ENE force 3. (5) Wrecked on Tor Rocks, Chesil Beach. (4) An oiler box, a brass cover, and a valve recovered.
