Full Description

The BRILLIANT was built in 1868 and owned by B Einersen, Grimstad, Norway. Her master was A C Bjerke and she had a crew of 10. The vessel went ashore in SSE/10 hurricane conditions. (1-4)

Manchester Courier and Lancashire General Advertiser, Monday, 14/1/1895: "During a north-easterly wind at noon on Saturday the barque Brilliant, 440 tons, Captain A.J. Bjirka, Cuba for Bremen, with cedar wood, drove ashore in Poole Bay. The crew were rescued by the lifeboat. It is believed that the vessel will break up." Also: BOT:Wk.
