Full Description

One early 16th century olive jar - top 2/3's only and two 18th century clay pipes recovered from adjacent to Bell Buoy in Poole Harbour during archaeological survey. The finds have been reported to the Receiver of Wreck. (1) Material of eighteenth century date has been found in this area. Poole Harbour Heritage Projects suggest that the material may represent a wreck site, or more likely, a roadstead. (2)
