This Portland Purbeck freestone quarry lies 200m west of Headbury and has been cut out of the cliff. The area of the quarry is approximately 60m east to west by 30m. It was called ‘Mikes’ quarry after Michael Bower who worked it in the early 20th century (Saville 1986, 8).
